Local Catholic Charities improve access to healthcare
Increasing access to healthcare is a key component of Catholic Charities of California’s goal to reduce poverty. Local Catholic Charities organizations have been providing these services for decades. Thousands of individuals and children will not sign up for healthcare without our assistance. This is particularly true when it comes to the undocumented, who are now eligible for Medi-Cal under State law.
Since 2013, Catholic Charities of California has led several statewide programs to provide education, outreach, and enrollment assistance for Medi-Cal and Covered California. Catholic Charities of California has ranked by the State in the top 10 of more than 850 Enrollment Entities for performance. Catholic Charities has helped over 10,000 people apply for healthcare coverage in more than 50 sites in the state. Participating local Catholic Organizations include Catholic Charities of Santa Rosa, Monterey, East Bay, Stockton, Fresno, Orange, San Diego, Los Angeles, and San Bernardino. These organizations are trusted in their communities and able to access hard to reach populations.
