CalFresh Healthy Living empowers low-income Californians to lead healthy, active, and nourished lifestyles by learning about nutrition and physical activity. This program also participates in local initiatives to achieve healthy lifestyles to address the problem of obesity and related chronic disease.
In 2023, Catholic Charities statewide provided over 18,500 participants with nutrition and physical activity education, and reached more than 230,000 people through education outreach. The CalFresh Healthy Living program currently serves 25 counties across the state and has positively impacted over 385,000 including: Solano, San Bernardino, Riverside, San Diego, Imperial, San Joaquin, Stanislaus, Orange, San Francisco, Marin, San Mateo, Monterey, Santa Cruz, Santa Clara, Los Angeles, Napa, Sonoma, Lake, Fresno, Butte, Glenn, Tehama, Siskiyou, Shasta, and Trinity.
