"It's a really great necessity; everybody needs help."
Kathy, a widow, found out about the Society of St. Vincent de Paul's food distribution at St. John the Baptist a few months ago and has been coming for help ever since.
Kathy visits every week, and it's been a tremendous help. She is able to get all the staples she needs, including meat, eggs, vegetables and dairy, allowing her to stretch her grocery budget.
When asked about the importance of this food distribution at St. John the Baptist, one of the 195 distribution sites in Sacramento Food Bank and Family Service's countywide network, she replied, "It's a really great necessity; everybody needs help."
Kathy's extremely thankful for a helping hand to close the gap and make ends meet.
