"Estoy muy agradecida por su ayuda- I am very grateful for your help."
As a farm-working family in San Ardo, the 2023 storms caused significant damage to the fields and rental unit where Marisol and her spouse live and work. The storms left her family without a refrigerator and stove to cook food.
Catholic Charities Diocese of Monterey distributed financial assistance to thousands of people, like Marisol's family, across Monterey County, San Benito County, and San Luis Obispo County.
Over several months in early 2024, Catholic Charities financial stability services and disaster relief staff brought help and hope to thousands of people in the Monterey communities through the distribution of local, state, and federal financial relief.
Marisol said it was a blessing for her family to receive Catholic Charities’ assistance. "Estoy muy agradecida por su ayuda- I am very grateful for your help," Marisol shared, tears streaming down her cheeks.
Thanks to the Storm Assistance for Immigrants (SAI), Marisol can now afford to purchase a small refrigerator and cooktop to prepare meals for her family. She was overwhelmed with happiness by the compassionate services provided by the Catholic Charities staff.
